Sylvia’s music career began in preschool. Throughout the years, she has loved playing a variety of musical styles. At the moment, she enjoys playing Elvis Presley-style Gospel music. Piano isn’t just her passion, music was her career for over 35 years. Sylvia received a Bachelor of Art in Music Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Her greatest accomplishments were from St. Olaf. She was on the choir, one of the most prestigious choirs in the United States. For over a century, this choir has set a standard of choral excellence.

Sylvia talked about being 92 years old. “Old age is not a disease. It’s a condition. I have chosen to enjoy life and be content of where I am. Follow the Lord’s lead and do what you love to do.” Sylvia follows her own advice. You can see her at Eskaton Village Carmichael playing piano every day in the skilled nursing care center. Thank you Sylvia for making our lives brighter with music.
