Petting Zoo for Placerville Residents

Eskaton Village Placerville Volunteers

On Friday, August 5, 2016, residents at Eskaton Village Placerville enjoyed a special treat: Ten volunteers plus staff members put together a petting zoo. Volunteers brought their animals for our residents and family members to hold and pet. The animals included “Layla” and “Glitch” (miniature horses), a pony named “Cookie”, goat brothers “Thor” and “Loki”, “Sky” the parakeet, “Hal’e” the Umbrella Cockatoo Parrot, a rat named “Alphia”, “Duncan” the Guinea Pig, a rabbit named “Fluffy”, “Duffy” the duck, and 2-4 day old baby chicks. Volunteers and staff brought residents from Memory Care to visit the animals. Mt. Democrat covered the event. Everyone had a great time and was delighted to see these wonderful pets!
