What Does Pride Mean to You? | Interview with Sitesha McDonald

This #PrideMonth, we're taking time to interview those who attended Sacramento Pride to learn what they liked most from their experience. We'd like to introduce LGBTQ+ ally, Sitesha McDonald, Program Lead at Eskaton's Telephone Reassurance Program.

Sitesha Large

Q: What does Pride mean to you?

A: "To me, Pride means being accepting of others' free choice to live the life they choose; and embracing the difference of others with love and respect."

Q: Why is celebrating Pride important for Eskaton?

A: "Pride for Eskaton means welcoming inclusion and celebrating diversity amongst those who live within our communities, those who provide support throughout the organization and those who have yet to know the family culture that is cultivated. Being a representation of love and support for a marginalized community highlights one of the reasons Eskaton is a proud place to be."

Q: What did you like most from your experience at Sacramento Pride?

A: "The Parade! Walking in the Parade with the Eskaton team was an exhilarating experience! The synergy from the onlookers and other marchers is what made the entire event one that I will cherish indefinitely!"
