No Experience Required to Be an Artist

"All I did was bring out his talent," said Kim, art teacher from Learning Sponge.

Eskaton Village Roseville Bill and Donna take weekly art classes from Kim at Eskaton Village Roseville

Bill retired from the insurance business. He never tried painting until 2 years ago when he moved to Eskaton Village Roseville. Now Bill has dozens of beautiful drawings and paintings, many hanging on the walls in his apartment.

Donna dabbled in art her entire life. She worked as a social workers in schools and remembers doing art with the students. She looks forward to seeing Kim each week.

Kim, a teacher and personal chef, is from a family of artists. "I went to Mission Renaissance to learn the process to pull out the talent from students." Many of her students are like Bill, they've never tried painting before. Since 2010, Kim teaches every Monday in assisted living and memory care.
