National Centenarians Day, held annually on September 22, is dedicated to honoring those who have reached the extraordinary age of 100 or more.
Reaching the age of 100 is no small feat. Centenarians have witnessed the world transform in ways that many of us can only imagine. They’ve seen technological revolutions, societal changes, and global events that have reshaped our world.
From living through the Great Depression and World War II to witnessing the rise of the internet, these individuals have navigated challenges and changes that span decades. Each centenarian has insight not just on the passage of time, but also the evolution of human experience.Whether they’re sharing their wisdom with younger generations or simply enjoying their favorite pastimes, centenarians embody a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Eskaton communities will come together to celebrate National Centenarians Day on September 20 during our annual fundraising luncheon, Age is Beautiful: Celebration of Centenarians benefiting the Eskaton Foundation's Resident Assistance Fund. We invite Northern California’s centenarians to enjoy a delicious luncheon with a keynote speech from UC Davis’ Heather M. Young Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N.

Their stories inspire us to appreciate the present moment and to strive for a future where we can continue to grow and thrive.
As we celebrate National Centenarians Day, let’s take a moment to recognize the incredible journey of those who have reached this impressive milestone. Their lives are a testament to endurance, wisdom, and the beauty of human experience.
