Life within a senior living community can provide comfort, connection and peace of mind. Many senior adults and their families are not aware of the options available to them when they begin their search for the perfect environment. We will break down the differences between the two options below:
- Life Plan Communities, also known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs)
- Monthly Rental Senior Living Communities
Eskaton understands that each individual has a unique set of needs and we are passionate about creating opportunities for each person to live the life best suited for them. With Life Plan and monthly communities available, residents continue enjoying fulfilled lives in environments that complement them.
Characteristics of Life Plan Communities
A Life Plan Community provides access to different levels of care within the same community and provides an easy transition for those whose needs may change over time. Life Plan Communities typically offer access to assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing, right within the same community.
With the uncertainty that health issues and aging can create, residents and their families don’t have to worry about finding a new community and can rest assured that their loved ones will receive exceptional care throughout the different stages in life.
Characteristics of Monthly Rental Communities
Rental communities may offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing but often as stand-alone services that can require a move if the resident’s needs change.
A couple who moves into an independent living community may find their options limited if one partner develops a chronic condition or mobility difficulties. If assisted living is needed, this might require the couple to uproot their lives and search for a community that provides for both of their needs. In some cases, one individual may have to live in a separate community to receive specialized care.
